The all sky imager enclosure is suitable for instruments up to 24” in total length. The diameter of the enclosure is 7.5” at the interior.
The enclosure is insulated and sealed against moisture intrusion with a re-usable silicone gasket. This enclosure is modelled after the enclosure designed by UCBerkley for the NASA THEMIS mission. With the advancement in technology since that time we have adjusted the design to accommodate a single board industrial computer allowing the camera support electronics to be housed inside the enclosure.
Provision of a weather proof power and Ethernet connector allows for a minimum ninety of wires and connections into the enclosure. The system can be configured for power over Ethernet operation with the power connector supplying heat for the can to keep the dome clear and the camera within its operating temperature spec.
